FAQ

Twelve questions, answered without the sales voice.

If an answer here is vague, it is usually because the honest answer depends on your phone provider or your state. Where that is true, the answer says so.

Questions and answers

Will it sound robotic?

It will sound like an assistant, because that is what it is. The sentences are short, the voice is natural, and the script is written for the phone rather than for chat. It says it is an AI in the first sentence, so the job is to be competent and clear, not to pass as a person. Listen to the sample transcript — the seams are deliberate.

Can it book my calendar?

Yes, if your calendar can be connected during onboarding. It offers only slots that are actually open, reads the address and time back, and sends a confirmation text. If there is no usable calendar integration, it does not invent a slot: it takes the request and texts you to confirm, and tells the caller that someone will confirm.

What if the caller asks for a human?

It says it can take the details and have someone call back, then sends the message to your on-call number. It does not claim a person is available unless you have set a transfer rule. The caller is told when to expect a callback, based on your office hours.

Do I keep my number?

Yes. You keep the number, the handset, and the provider. The assistant is a forwarding layer: calls forward to it when your rules match — busy, unanswered, after hours, or every call if you prefer. Turning forwarding off puts you back on your current setup.

Is it legal to record calls?

Recording law varies by state. Federal law is one-party consent; a minority of states require all parties to consent, and some have stricter rules for businesses. The assistant announces recording at the start of every call and offers a callback instead where consent is required. We configure the wording for your state and ask you to have counsel sign off. This page is not legal advice.

What happens if it fails?

The intended failure mode is your existing phone or voicemail. If the assistant cannot answer or loses the line, forwarding falls through to the number you already have. The line is monitored and you are alerted if it stops answering. No system is perfect; the point is that a failure does not produce a dead line.

How long does setup take?

Three to five business days after the kickoff call, assuming we can change call forwarding and connect the calendar. The slow part is usually your phone provider, not the script. Test calls happen on day three, and you listen to each one before go-live.

What counts as an emergency?

You decide, and we write the rule down. Typical triggers are a gas smell, active flooding, no heat below a set outdoor temperature, a downed line, or a caller who says someone is in danger. On a match, the assistant stops qualifying and follows your escalation list: on-call, backup, then a recorded message.

Do I need to change my phone system?

No new hardware and no new handset. If your current provider supports call forwarding on busy and no answer, you can keep everything. If it does not, we will tell you before you pay the setup fee, because that is a blocker a script cannot solve.

What does a call cost?

The $249 monthly plan includes 300 minutes. That works out to about $0.83 a minute if you use all of them; each minute beyond 300 is $0.35. A two-minute call uses two minutes of the allowance. Setup is $900 once. After-hours-only coverage is $149 a month.

Who sees the transcripts?

You do, and the people operating your account. Transcripts are stored with access limited to the account and the service operator. We do not sell call data. Retention and deletion are described on the disclosure page, and a caller can ask for their record to be deleted by emailing us.

Is there a contract?

Billing is monthly. The notice period, refund terms, and data retention are stated in the written scope you receive before paying the setup fee. Nothing about cancellation is decided at the end of the relationship for the first time.

Still not answered?

Email [email protected] with the question. We will answer it in writing, and if it is a common one we will add it here.

Want the wording instead?

The disclosure page has the exact opening line, the recording notice, and what the assistant will never say.
